1987 Oakland A’s Athletics Game Worn Pregame Jersey #17 Walt Weiss

This is for an original 1987 Oakland A’s pregame knit jersey worn by shortstop and 1988 Rookie of the Year Walt Weiss. Walt would be the last of Oaklands string of rookie of the year award winners following Jose Canseco in 1986 and Mark McGwire in 1987. The pregame knit is in great shape with no name on back, no year tag and a red Rawlings size 44 label stitched on the underside. The jersey has all correct tagging with a Rawlings logo on the right sleeve along with Weiss’s number 17 on the back and the A’s logo on the front double stitched on the jersey with white over yellow. The jersey also appears to be the same jersey worn on Walt’s 1988 Donruss Highlights Rookie of the Year card. The jersey was originally purchased from Smoking Pistols, a reputable dealer in game used merchandise and I can provide a copy of the original bill of sale with certain information whited out. A gorgeous jersey from a fan favorite of baseball. Rather than paying hundreds for a copy, get yourself the real deal for a few bucks more.
