    Description

    Richard William Bartell
, nicknamed "Rowdy Richard", was an American professional baseball player, coach, and manager. He played in Major League Baseball as a shortstop from 1927 to 1946. One of the most ferocious competitors of his era, he won both admirers and critics at each stop during a career which saw him traded every few seasons, often under acrimonious circumstances. While hitting.300 over a full season five times, the two-time National League All-Star led the National League in double plays four times and in putouts and assists three times each. From 1927 through 1946, Bartell played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Giants, Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers. After two years of military service in World War II, he played briefly in 1946 before retiring. At 5'9" and 160 pounds, he batted and threw right-handed.

    I have written several books
, conducted many in-person interviews with celebrities for print. I was on Channel 2 and KGO Radio in San Francisco with Ronn Owens and Kammi King  Show (Andy Devine's Granddaughter) in the 1990s where I was called
    "The Hollywood Guy"
and talk about the celebrities I met or interviewed. I had written articles on a regular basis for
    Autograph Collectors Magazine
for Joseph Kraus, we had a local walk-in store, sold at all the top collectible shows for Hollywood and Sci-Fi like Doug Wright (Glendale and Pasadena) and Wirf & Palmer Collectible Shows (Portland) as well as regulars at the San Mateo and Cow Palace Massive Collectible Shows. I was Northern California Secretary of the

    OUR PRICING INFO
    -
The best provenance is to get the autograph in person yourself. That way you are sure it's real. The next best thing is to buy one from a dealer that has a reputation for being honest and thorough. When you look at signatures, remember to sort using these techniques. Documents and checks have the best examples in most cases for comparatives. But you should also consider a signature can change many times over the years. Then you have to expect to find and recognize know many of the secretarial and authorized signers (is-fan clubs and fan mail businesses) for the individual.
