    Description

    1981 DONRUSS BASEBALL CARD (#285) SIGNED by LARRY COX of the SEATTLE MARINERS. This card has two light creases at the bottom and the back has damage from being removed from a scrapbook (please see pic). The autograph is in blue sharpie.
    Cox played for the Mariners in 1977, the franchise's inauguaral season, and 1979-1980. He started with the Philadelphia Phillies (1973-1975) and also played for the Cubs (1978), Rangers (1981, 5 games) and Cubs again (1982, 2 games). Overall in his 348 major league games he hit .221 with 12 home runs. He was bullpen coach for the Cubs in 1988 and 1989. However, he suffered a heart attack while playing racquetball during the off-season.
    LARRY COX DIED at the age of 42 in 1990.
