He made his MLB debut on May 22, 1991 with the Chicago White Sox. He was college teammates with Barry Bonds at Arizona State University. Wakamatsu was the first Asian American manager in MLB history, leading the Seattle Mariners in 2009 and 2010. And now he’s the bench coach for the Texas Rangers. He was also once interim manager for the Rangers.
