    Description

    The Spain 500 Peseta banknote was released by the Bank of Spain in 1979. It comes with blue, black, red, and green color combinations. Its obverse design depicts a portrait of Spanish writer Maria Rosalia de Castro and the emblem of Spain. The back of the note features the Casa-Museo de Rosalia or the House Museum of Rosalia de Castro in Padron, a flowering tree branch, and Galician handwritten fragment of the poem Follas Novas or New Leaves by Rosalia. The banknote is 129 x 70 mm in size and bears a green solid security thread and a watermark that reveals the head of Rosalia de Castro. It also carries the signatures of Rendueles, Palazuelo, and Urdiola. This particular banknote has been TAP authenticated and is in uncirculated condition.
